May E. Harding, 73, Hopewell, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at her home.

She was born August 28, 1935, in Saxton, a daughter of the late Shelly P., married to Alice A. (Becker) Taylor.

On August 17, 1963, in Saxton, she was united in marriage to Earl J. Harding. He preceded her in death November 1, 1990.

She is survived by the following children: Levi Norris, married to Vera (Black), Hopewell; Kathy, married to Gary W. Thomas, Six Mile Run; Charlette, married to Gary VanPelt, Hopewell; Debbie, married to William "Mike" Duvall, Robertsdale; Earl Harding, married to Malinda (Pittman), Hopewell; Bernice Hughes, fiance of Clyde Price, Six Mile Run; Brenda, married to Marty Hughes, Point Marion; Sheila, married to Rex Kline, Hopewell; Sheri, married to Tim Christopher, Hopewell; brothers and sisters: Wallace Taylor, married to Wanda, Wells Tannery; Thelma, married to Lawarence Chilcote, Hustontown; Raymond Taylor, Bedford; Rose, married to James Stevenson, Wells Tannery; 27 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandson.

She was preceded in death by a sister and brothers: Marie Childers, James Taylor and Sonny Taylor; one grandson, Gary "Pete VanPelt; and two great-grandsons: Devon M. Barton and Zachary Corbin.

She was of the Protestant faith and attended Kearney Union Church.

She and her husband operated a home care and personal care home out of their home for 17 years.

She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, caring for her home, singing, yodeling, family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 10, at 11:00 a.m., at Akers Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jerry Wright officiated. Burial was made in Langdondale Cemetery.
