WIN Announces New Support Group

Do you want to learn more about how to simply life and learn new skills that will help you with daily activities? Do you want to spend time with other adults and build new friend two hours a week to focus on you? If so, Women In Need has a group for you!

This new support group is for victims of domestic or sexual violence and has been created to help identify and increase skills that will allow each person to feel more independent. Some of the topics that will be covered are computer skills, resume writing, interview skills, budgeting, balancing checkbooks and self-care. Group members will be encouraged to try new experiences and will support others in their journey as well.

The group will be offered locally on Thursdays from 1 to 3 in the afternoon. The group will begin meeting as soon as it is full and will run for seven weeks. The topics of the group will build upon each other, so participation is encouraged each week.

Women In Need has been serving victims of domestic and sexual violence for more than 30 years in a variety of ways. All of WIN's services are free and confidential; they focus on helping each person work toward healthier and safer lives. Women In Need helps victims in both Franklin and Fulton counties - are you interested in joining this new support group?

For more information or to register for the group, please call Tammi or Palma at 264-3056.
