Ten-year-old Bailey Orange, Chambersburg, daughter of Gina Lake, formerly of McConnellsburg, and Dr. Paul Orange, was recently selected to receive an award for her participation in the Americanism program, sponsored by the Amvets Post 224 of Chambersburg.
This year's theme was "What Does An American Veteran Mean To Me." Bailey placed first among fourth-graders competing from Franklin County. She has also qualified to compete in the Pennsylvania State Pepsi USBC Youth Bowling Championships, which is certified by the United States Bowling Congress, to be held in Butler, Pa. A total of $28,000 will be awarded in scholarships.
Besides bowling, her other interests include snow skiing, riding horses, playing guitar and piano, CYSO soccer and Girl Scouts of America. She attends Montessori Academy.
