Medical Center Foundation Dinner-Auction Nets $12,000
After a yearlong hiatus, the board of directors of Fulton County Medical Center Foundation brought back the ever-popular FCMC Dinner-Auction April 4. The funds raised this year went to two deserving projects, the American Cancer Society's '09 Relay For Life Fulton County campaign and Fulton County Medical Center's patient services building project.
Local auctioneer Ronnie Zimmerman auctioned off nearly 100 traditional items while 250 attendees bid. There were more than 300 total items on the traditional and silent auctions. The auction netted more than $12,000. The highlight of the evening was a bidding war for four Philadelphia Phillies tickets hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates, with the winning bid of $800 going to Dr. Frank D'Amelio. For a complete listing of items and their realized prices, please visit the Web site at www.fcmcpa.org.
FCMC has a total goal of $2.5 million to raise for the new building project. The FCMC Relay For Life "Angels Team" set a $10,000 goal for this year. The Relay goal must be met by May 27.
