McConnellsburg 5,

Tussey Mountain 1

McConnellsburg scored in the first and third innings of last Tuesday's Sideling Hill League match to outlast the Mc- Connellsburg Spartans 5-1 in seven innings of play. Pitcher Megan Eichelberger rallied for 14 strikeouts, seven walks, four hits and one earned run. Alexis Mellott connected for a triple at the plate for McConnellsburg, and Sam McQuade added an RBI triple.

Southern Fulton 9,

Northern Bedford 3

Kelsey White picked up her very first win last Tuesday in her pitching debut for the Southern Fulton Lady Indians, who trounced Northern Bedford 9-3 in Sideling Hill League action. White tallied 13 strikeouts, six hits, three walks and three earned runs. White along with teammates Carissa Gordon and Keena Elbin each connected for two hits. One of Gordon's hits was a two-run double.

Everett 18, Forbes Road 2

Forbes Road opened up its season with a 18-2 loss at the hands of the Everett Lady Warriors Tuesday night, giving up 15 runs in the final two innings. Kelsey Lilley posted a hit and knocked in two runs for the Cardinals. Pitcher Lauren King was handed the loss with seven walks, eight hits and 11 earned runs.

Southern Fulton 17, Hancock 3

Southern Fulton easily downed Hancock Friday in a high scoring game for the Lady Indians, who upped their season record to 2-0 with the 17-3 nonleague victory. Pitcher Kelsey White tallied another win, striking out seven batters and only giving up one walk and one earned run. Keena Elbin finished out the final two innings of the match with two strikeouts, two walks and one hit. Bailey Elbin and Taylor Leasure both totalled two hits. Meanwhile, Carissa Gordon had three hits, which included a double, and four RBIs.

St. Maria Goretti 8,

McConnellsburg 3

With its roster short several players, McConnellsburg was unable to overcome St. Maria Goretti last Friday in seven innings that ended in a 8-3 loss. Sam McQuade had an extrabase hit, a double, that pushed a runner across the plate for the Lady Spartans. Nicki McQuade also hit an RBI. Pitcher Megan Eichelberger finished with seven strikeouts, seven walks, six hits and three earned runs.
