Virgie L. Whorley
Virgie Lee Whorley, 89, a resident of Morgan County War Memorial Hospital Extended Care, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and formerly of Lovettsville, Va., died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the center.
Born May 25, 1919, in Floyd County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ola Hubbard Belcher and the widow of Jesse Whorley, who died June 10, 1966.
She was a homemaker and attended Jack's Creek United Methodist Church in Stuart, Va.
She is survived by two daughters: LaVahn Godsey, Columbus, Ohio; Linda Barker, Boonsboro, Md.; a sister, Lorna Belcher, Woolwine, Va.; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lonnis Whorley; a grandson, Jessie Godsey, and a greatgreat grandchild.
Services were held Tuesday, March 31, at 2:00 p.m., at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Cemetery, Lovettsville, Va. Rev. Roland England officiatied.
