Pa. Coroner Examining Skull Found By Children
WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) - A coroner is having experts examine a human skull found by children playing in a yard in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco says he'll have the skull examined by two forensic scientists, including Dr. Dennis Dirkmaat, an anthropologist at Mercyhurst College in Erie. Dirkmaat is an expert at examining human remains.
Warco says no other bones were found in the yard in South Franklin Township, about 20 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.
Warco says three children found the skull while playing in the yard on Saturday. State police say the family moved into the home about a year ago.
