Harry L. Grubb Jr.

Everett, 70

Harry L. Grubb Jr., 70, Everett, died Monday, March 16, 2009, at Pennknoll Village.

He was born June 8, 1938, in Bedford, a son of the late Harry L. Grubb Sr. and Anna L. (Smith) of Everett.

He was formerly married to Jeannie (Layton) Grubb, Everett.

Along with his mother, he is survived by two children: Terri, married to Randy Hyde, State College; Dawn, married to Charles Morral, Clearville; granddaughter Samantha Renee Hyde, State College; longtime companion Barb Hann, Everett; brother and sisters: Glenn Grubb, married to Nancy, Warfordsburg; Barbara, married to Tom Hawkins, Mesa, Ariz.; and Bonnie, married to Tom Tewell, Everett.

He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1957. He served in the United States Army.

He was service attendant at the Exxon Service Station, Turnpike Interchange, for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1986.

He was a life member of Everett American Legion Post No. 8, where he served as a director on the board, past commander, past deputy commander and was a member of Everett Honor Guard. He assisted in the establishing of the Everett Honor Roll Monument.

He was a member of the Everett VFW Post No. 2088, Bloody Run Social Club No. 507, life member of North American Hunting Club, Pennsylvania Rifle and Pistol Assoc., and the National Rifle Assoc.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 20, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Everett. Rev. Doug Friant officiated. Burial was made in Everett Cemetery. Full military honors were conducted by Everett Honor Guard.
