Cousin To Press Death Suit In Pa. Dentist's Murder
INDIANA, Pa. (AP) - The cousin of a dentist murdered by a state trooper says she'll press on with a wrongful death lawsuit against the Pennsylvania State Police.
A federal judge stayed the lawsuit pending the murder trial of Trooper Kevin Foley who, on Wednesday, was convicted of killing Dr. John Yelenic (YEL'- nik) of Blairsville. Foley slashed Yelenic with a knife and left him to bleed to death after putting his head through a window the day before Yelenic's divorce was to be final from the trooper's livein girlfriend in April 2006.
Mary Ann Clark, Yelenic's cousin and estate executor, says state police could have prevented the murder. Several troopers testified at the murder trial that Foley spoke of wanting Yelenic dead.
