Brian L. Swope
Brian Lyn Swope, 33, a resident of The Hearthside Nursing Home, State College, since December 2008, and formerly of Huntingdon, died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, following a lengthy illness.
Born February 18, 1976, in Huntingdon, he was a son of Darlene K. (Swope) Port, Huntingdon and the late Lonne Sheeder.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his maternal grandparents: Robert and Viola Black, Chambersburg; and three siblings: Tammy Donaldson, Huntingdon; Michelle McCartney, Three Springs; and Lonne Sheeder Jr., Burnt Cabins; eight nephews and a niece, Shawn Michael Montgomery, Dillon Leo Walker, Jordan Wayne Sheeder, Nathaniel Dakota Donaldson, Steven Duane McCartney Jr., Logan Mitchell McCartney, Lucas Michael McCartney, Austin James Sheeder and Cassie Jo Sheeder; and a number of aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary Kolinchad.
He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He enjoyed car rides, watching television, going to the park and attending the Jaffa Shrine Circus.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 12, at Trinity Assembly of God, Huntingdon. Rev. Greg Lloyd officiated. Burial was made in the IOOF Memorial Cemetery, Rockhill Furnace.
John B. Brown Funeral Home Inc., Huntingdon, was in charge of arrangements.
