Children Rescued From Steep Pa. Park Hillside
NATRONA HEIGHTS, Pa. (AP) - Five children are recovering from various injuries a day after falling over a steep hillside in a county park near Pittsburgh.
Harrison Township police aren't identifying the children rescued Sunday afternoon from Harrison Hills Park, a 500-acre hilltop park that overlooks the Allegheny River about 25 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
Police aren't sure if the children fell off a trail or whether it was partially eroded and gave way. The children tumbled some 75 feet down the hillside facing the river.
Police say at least one child had a cell phone and dialed 911. Police used global positioning information from the phone to find the children, whose ages aren't being released.
