PennDOT Chief To Name Stimulus-Money Projects

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Pennsylvanians will soon find out which highway and bridge projects will be financed with money from the federal economic stimulus package.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Secretary Allen Biehler (bee'luhr) is holding a news conference at the Capitol on Monday afternoon to announce both stimulus and nonstimulus projects that are scheduled to be contracted in 2009.

PennDOT says the state is slated to receive slightly more than $1 billion in stimulus money for highway and bridge work.
