March is known as a very windy month. So far it has proven to be very windy. Spring is to arrive on March 20.

Sorry to hear Tim and Kathy Gelvin and children had the misfortune

of having a fire at their home that we hear did quite a bit

of damage. Our prayers go out to them.

Hustontown Vol. Fire Co. will hold its spring banquet this Saturday, March 21.

The United Methodist Church of St. Thomas will have its spring flea market starting on Friday, March 26, from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 21, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Baked potato and salad bar meal on Saturday, March 21, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Center Community Building. Donations will be accepted for the Center youth group. Takeout trays are available. The fundraiser will be used toward sound equipment for the church and youth group functions. The building is located on Rt. 655 between Forbes Road School and Waterfall on Dublin Mills Road.

The movie "Fireproof" will be shown at Center United Methodist Church Sunday, March 22, at 6:00 p.m. This movie is family oriented and deals with a fireman's relationship with his job, his family and his God. The movie, drinks and popcorn are free.

Robert and June Bennett returned home after spending a few days sightseeing in Vietnam.

Happy birthday wishes to Linda Englert and Martha Berkstresser who will be having birthdays this week.

Glad to report Betty Malot and Marvin DeShong are both recuperating real well. Hope they will be recovered soon. Also, Sarah Shaw is doing well after back surgery.

Speedy recovery wishes to Marty Clark who will be having surgery this week.

Lenten services will be held Wednesday evening at Knobsville United Methodist Church at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Sorry to hear Paul Byers is a patient at Harrisburg Hospital and Red Bookheimer is a patient at Chambersburg Hospital. We send get well wishes to them.

Household hint: On pins and needles - Save scraps of soap and wrap them in cloth for a pin cushion. The extra lubraction from soap will help the pins slide more smoothly through the fabric.
