Novak And Morton Place In Hoop Shoot States

The Pennsylvania State Elks Hoop Shoot competition was held over the weekend at State College High School. Kierstyn Morton, daughter of Allan and Kelly Morton of Needmore, placed eighth in the state, shooting 11 out of 25 in the 8-9-year-old girls division and Chase Novak, son of Jim and Sandy Novak of McConnellsburg placed seventh in the state, shooting 16 out of 25 in the 10-11-year-old boys division. Shooters from all around the state were treated to a free weekend at the Penn Stater Hotel compliments of the Elks. Winners were as follows: 8-9 girls - Madison Willtrout 18/25 from Connesville, Pa., 8-9 boys - Jerrik Rydbom 23/25 from Blairsville, Pa., 10- 11 girls - Monica Davison 19/25 from South Park, Pa., 10-11 Boys - Zachary Wargula 22/25 from New Ringgold, Pa., 12-13 girls - Christina Grzybeck 21/25 from Gibsonia, Pa., and 12-13 boys - Brett Gilbert 23/25 from Reading, Pa., will shoot at the regional competition in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on March 28. All the shooters would like to thank the Elks for the opportunity to shoot and for the great time at Penn State.
