Raymond A. Gloyd
Raymond Ashby "Sneaky" Gloyd, 76, Great Cacapon, W.Va., died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born September 22, 1932, in Great Cacapon, he was the son of the late Adam Kaylor and Alice Virginia Farris Gloyd.
He attended Road Ridge School, Great Cacapon.
He owned and operated Gloyd's Sawmill and Timber Operations in Great Cacapon.
He was a Protestant.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bernice Lee Virginia "Mouse" Farris Gloyd; two sons: L. Keith Gloyd, Warfordsburg, and Randy W. Gloyd, Great Cacapon; two sisters: Rosie Spielman, Berkeley Springs, and Beulah Mawyer, Warrenton, Va.; two half-sisters; seven half-brothers; three grandchildren; a greatgranddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Cowgill, and two brothers: Charles and Alonza Gloyd.
Services were held Wednesday, March 11 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Steve Dawson officiated. Burial was made in Mount Nebo Cemetery, Great Cacapon.
