Marine Corps League Seeks New Members

To The Editor:

The Marine Corps League of Pennsylvania Inc. is seeking new members. Our mission, as stated in our national charter, is "to preserve the traditions, promote the interests, and perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps." Our membership is composed of active duty, reserve, honorably discharged and retired Marines and FMF Corpsmen. There are approximately 80 detachments throughout Pennsylvania representing over 6,000 Marines and FMF Corpsman.

Some of the programs the Marine Corps League of Pennsylvania actively supports are the Marine Corps League Auxiliary, Veterans Administration Voluntary Services, United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots, Young Marines of the Marine Corps League, United States Marine Youth Physical Fitness, Marine Helping Marines, and Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scouts.

The membership is also very active in homeless veterans programs, color guards, honor guards, youth scholarship programs, support the troop events, educating the public and local politicians on veterans issues, as well as social events, such as Marine Corps birthday balls, detachment picnics and trips to the Evening Parade, MCRD Parris Island and Marine Corps Museum.
