Racing Roundup

By Brad Vores

For the seventh straight season, Hagerstown Speedway was forced to cancel its season opener.

Despite decent temps and a nice, sunny day on Saturday, turns three and four of the speedway were still frozen, forcing the track to cancel the opener of Late Models and Sprints.

Hagerstown will try again this Saturday with the big block modifieds and Late Models

Hagerstown did hold its Race A Rama car show at the Valley Mall where Jerry Bard's No. 26 Late Model Sportsman won Best of Show.

Awards in the Late Models went to Alan Sagi, Marvin Winters and Devin Friese while Late Model Sportsman awards went to Terry Flaherty, Pete Weaver and Roy Hornbaker.

Taking honors in the Pure Stocks were Charlie Pensinger, Randy Kline and Robert Thompson.

Lincoln Speedway is ready for this Saturday's Icebreaker 30 for Sprints with a 2 p.m. race time. The track is ready and with the help of some warmer weather this week, it appears Lincoln will kick off the season Saturday.

Williams Grove Speedway held its kick off party Sunday at The Coliseum entertainment complex in Camp Hill, where a nice roster of drivers were in attendance along with several race cars on display and a lot of fans coming out for the show.

That's it until next time as we hope to bring you some results next week. So until then, email reaches me at Bvores@aol.com.
