Southern Fulton 55, Meyersdale 21

The Southern Fulton Indians dominated the first round of District 5-A playoffs last Wednesday evening, easily defeating the Meyersdale Red Raiders in part by some key shooting by Brooke Whiteside. Whiteside led the Indians during their 55-21 ousting of Meyersdale with 25 points. Lacey Beatty was the next highest scorer with nine points and six assists, while Natasha Bard managed six points and 10 rebounds. Keena Elbin also netted six points.

Berlin 51, Southern Fulton 40

After falling to the Berlin Mountaineers last year in District 5-A playoffs, Southern Fulton was out for revenge and a semifinal round victory last Friday evening. Unfortunately, the Indians offense struggled offensively prior to the halftime break, allowing the Mountaineers to again prevail by the final score of 51-40. Lacey Beatty finished out the Indians' final game with 14 points, and Chelsey Hollenshead added 11 points, 10 rebounds and two steals. Brooke Whiteside followed with 10 points and four assists.
