Ferne C. Runk
Ferne C. Runk, 86, Willow Hill, died Friday, February 20, 2009, at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born October 26, 1922, in Burnt Cabins, she was the daughter of the late Dallas and Annie Shore Carlin.
Her husband, Ray C. Runk, died April 26, 1999.
She had been employed as a cook at the former Howard Johnson's restaurant.
She was a member of Fair Ridge Assembly of God, where she was a former Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by four children: Leona R. Rosenberry and John H. Runk, both of Willow Hill, and Almeda Rupert and Beverly S. Crouse, both of Spring Run, Pa.; two sisters: Nelda Snyder, Shade Gap, and Violet Pool, Fort Loudon; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 24, at 2:00 p.m., at Fair Ridge Assembly of God, Shade Gap. Pastor Karey Shaffer and Rev. Marlin Neil officiated. Burial was made in Upper Path Valley Cemetery.
The Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, Dry Run, was in charge of arrangements.
