John A. Kendall
John A. Kendall, 75, Chambersburg, died Monday, February 16, 2009, at his home.
Born March 19, 1933, in Jacksonburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Glenn and Blanche Jackson Kendall.
He worked as a carpenter for 25 years for Brechbill and Helman Construction Co. in Chambersburg.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of Heidelberg Church in Marion, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly V. Dorty Kendall, whom he married February 28, 1953; three daughters: Michele M. Alvarez, Marion, Pa.; Tammy L. Myers, Carlisle; and Jill K. Oberholzer, Waynesboro; a son, John J. Kendall, Egg Harbor, NJ; three sisters: Wilma Sipes and Naomi Androchek, both of Chambersburg, and Dixie Hoover, Mc- Connellsburg; a brother, Jackie Kendall, St. Thomas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Wilbert, Jerry, Stanley, Ronald and Don Kendall.
Memorial services were held Saturday, February 21, at 1:00 p.m., at Heidelberg Church, Marion. Pastor Adam Leeper officiated. Burial was private.
