First it was the 410 Sprints cars in action at Volusia Speedway Park, and last week it was the Late Models turn on the fast half mile oval.
The UMP Late Models were in action Monday night when it was Darren Miller scoring the win over Darrell Lanigan, Scott Bloomquist, Wendell Wallace and Steve Francis, with Rick Eckert seventh.
Tuesday night, Earl Pearson Jr. topped the feature event over Jimmy Owens, Shane Clanton, Brady Smith and Rick Eckert. PA's Dan Stone had a 14th-place finish.
Dan Schlieper came back for a Wednesday night victory over Lanigan, Eckert, Pearson and Billy Moyer.
Thursday night it was the World of Outlaws Late Models in action as young West Virginia driver Josh Richards scored the opening night win. Richards has won the last three WoO season openers. He took the win over Lanigan, Shannon Babb, Steve Francis and Schlieper, with Eckert finishing 10th.
Friday night saw the UMP Late Models back on the track as Richards pocketed $10,000 for that series finale in his win over Eckert, Lanigan, Scott James and Clanton, with Stone finishing 12th.
Saturday night brought an end to the week of racing at VSP as Steve Francis took the victory over Brady Smith, Eckert, Kelly Boen and Pearson.
The 410 Sprints had two events at East Bay Raceway Park last week as Wayne Johnson won on Tuesday night over Greg Hodnett, Daryn Pittman, Mark Smith and Terry McCarl. Pittman, aboard the Pete Postupack sprinter won the $5,000 finale on Wednesday night over McCarl, Lance Dewease, Danny Smith and Hodnett. Pittman will race the Pete's No. 25 this season in Central PA.
Don't forget the Hagerstown Speedway Race-A-Rama is tonight (Wednesday) through Friday at the Valley Mall. All sorts of race cars will fill the mall.
Then on Saturday, weather permitting, the 410 Sprints and Late Models will be flying around the Hub City oval in the 2009 season kickoff here in the Northeast. Hagerstown will use a Sunday raindate. Racing begins at 1 p.m.
