Bids Opened For I-70 Culver t

PennDOT announced last week that bids have been accepted for the I-70 design/build culvert project in Bethel Township, Fulton County.

C.H.&D Enterprises Inc., New Stanton, was the lowest of four bidders to win the contract with a bid amount of $1,702,962.

The project consists of the placement of a pipe arch with a precast box culvert along with any necessary roadway approach work. This culvert replacement project is located approximately 0.9 mile south of Warfordsburg on I-70 over a tributary to the Little Tonoloway Creek.

Work is expected to begin in the spring with a completion date of mid-November 2009.

The project is being completed with 100 percent state monies. This bridge is one of the 411 bridges on the governor's program to accelerate work on structurally deficient bridges across the state.
