Bid Results For I-70 Br idge Projects

PennDOT announced recently the bid results for the I- 70 project to replace three different superstructures carrying traffic over I-70 in Union and Bethel townships, Fulton County.

The project will rehabilitate three bridge structures on Route 731 and Route 3006, all carrying traffic over I-70. All three structures will have the existing decks and parapets removed and replaced along with the removal and replacement of the beams. Minor approach work, including guiderail placement, will also be completed.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. Inc. of New Enterprise was the lowest of seven bidders with a bid amount of $3 million. This project will be completed with 90 percent state and 10 percent federal monies.

The project will begin in the spring, with a completion date of late September 2010.
