Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

Sunday temperatures were teaser for spring, but I guess we

will have to be patient for more of those kind of days. Our sympathy

is extended to the family and relatives of Scott Hoover, who passed away due to an accident.

Hustontown Fire Co. will have a potpie dinner of ham or beef on February 15 at 11:00 a.m.

Praise and worship services will be held at Center United Methodist Church on Wednesday, February 11, at 7:00 p.m.

A spaghetti dinner will be held at the Center Church on February 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Valentine's Day dance will follow the meal. The meal includes spaghetti, salad, roll, drink and dessert. Donations will be accepted for the youth group. Takeout meals are available. The fundraiser will be used toward sound equipment for the church and youth functions.

Knobsville United Methodist Church welcomed Rev. Dr. Dianne Solter as guest speaker on Sunday morning from First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg. She is an ordained deacon of Central PA Conference.

Glad to hear Betty Malot will be able to return home this week. We send continued recovery wishes her way.

Community appreciation meal will be held February 22 at 12:30 p.m. at Center Community Building. Pastor Mike and Crystal Baumgardner invite all to attend the turkey and trimmings meal.

Happy birthday wishes to Evelyn Mort on February 14.

Household hint: Glass as plastic: Most refrigerated or frozen foods keep longer and better if put in glass jars instead of plastic because plastic is more porus than glass and not as safe.
