Hunter/Trapper Education Course The Hunter/Trapper Education course will be offered March 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and March 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club. This is the first of three courses for Fulton County. Bring a bag lunch for Saturday. Preregistration is required by going to http://www.pgc.state.pa.us and click on Hunter Education. Tree Seedling Sale Fulton County Conservation District is having a tree seedling sale. Trees available are: fruit trees, berries, etc. - apple, peach, sour cherry, pear, Asian pear, plum, grapes, strawberries, blueberries and asparagus; nut trees - English walnut, American hazelnut, heartnut and American chestnut seedlings; tree seedlings - red pine, white pine, Douglas fir, red oak, chinkapin oak, white oak, shagbark hickory, Norway spruce, blue spruce, balsam fire, Fraser fir and American plum; landscaping trees - bur oak, pin oak, scarlet oak, American arborvitae, Douglas fir, Eastern hemlock, hand select blue spruce, chinkapin oak, Fraser fir, balsam fir, Norway spruce, white spruce and white pine. Tree seedlings and landscaping trees vary in size. Size is indicated on the order form. Deadline for all orders is March 6, 2009. Second Time Around Open Help is available for anyone who is out of work, no income and needing help with clothing. Second Time Around Store in Waterfall has an abundance of items with prices low. No one will be turned away. Hours are Tuesday and Thursday, noon until 3:00 p.m. and Saturday, noon until 2:00 p.m.

Beat The Winter Blues Workshop Join Fulton County 4-H for a series of one-day workshops. All workshops are open to the public but are limited to 10 kids per class. Cost is $10 per workshop for supplies. Schedule: February 16: "Stitch by Stitch" beginner sewing; February 21: cake decorating 101; February 28 - Kids and Kash (financial management); and March 14: Breads from Around the World. CF Registration Central Fulton School District will hold registration for the 2009-2010 school year on Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday, March 26, 27, 30 and 31. Children who will be age 4 on or before August 26 are eligible for the 4K program and children who will be age 5 on or before August 26, 2009, are eligible for kindergarten (5K). Please note that students who are currently enrolled in the 4K program, do not need to re-register for 5K. Please contact Stacy Morton at 485- 4438, ext. 244, to schedule an appointment.

FR Kindergarten/Red Bird Registration Forbes Road kindergarten registration is scheduled for February 18 and February 20. Red Bird registration is scheduled for February 19. Contact 814-685-3865 for an appointment.

Insects In Your Garden "Insects In Your Garden and Forest" - Learn about the insects that inhabit gardens and woods on Saturday, February 14, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Butterfly Gardens, Cito Road, McConnellsburg. It is free and open to the public. Speakers will be Greg Reineke of the Fulton County Conservation District, who will present on mosquitoes and the problems they can bring and Dave Scamardella, forester with DCNR, Bureau of Forestry, who will speak about other insect pests in the local woodlands. Lifeguard Recertification Recertification for lifeguards will be May 9 and May 16 starting at 9:00 a.m. at the James Buchanan pool. More information may be obtianed by calling Mrs. Kendall at 485-0221 or 485-4530, ext. 343.

Fulton County Relay For Life Kickoff The official kickoff for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life 2009 takes place from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, February 15, at the American Legion in Mc- Connellsburg. The community is encouraged to take part in this year's Relay For Life fundraising campaign. Information about Relay, which is scheduled for May 29 and 30 at the Fulton County Fairgrounds, will be reviewed, including how to organize a team, different ways to fundraise, how to donate, etc. Entertainment, a cake walk, silent auction, door prizes and refreshments are also planned. Free Clothing Free clothing will be given out on Tuesday, February 17, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church (weather permitting). Further information may be obtained by calling 717-485-5917.

Pesticide Update Trainings will be held February 18 at Southern Fulton High School, February 26 at Forbes Road High School. The meetings are from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. 2 core and 2 Category Credits will be offered. If the county schools have a weather closure, the meeting will be canceled and rescheduled. SF Kindergarten Registration Southern Fulton School District will be having kindergarten registration on February 26 and 27. Anyone having children who will be 5 years old before September 1, 2009, should call the elementary school at 717-293-3400 to schedule an appointment.

AARP Tax Aide Free tax help for taxpayers with middle and low income will be available at the old Fulton Theatre, in back of F&M Bank on North Second Street, McConnellsburg, Wednesday February 11, from noon to 5:00 p.m. Free e-filing. Taxes will be done for any age. No rentals, farms or businesses will be done. More information may be obtained by calling 987-3915.
