Opal D. Ward

Hancock, 86

Opal Dorothy Ward, 86, formerly of Hancock, and a resident of Fulton County Extended Care, McConnellsburg, died Friday, January 30, 2009, at the facility.

Born July 24, 1922, in Big Pool, Md., she was the daughter of the late Arlie Floyd and Pansy Truax Spade and the widow of Raymond L. "Bud" Ward, who died March 26, 1986.

She was a homemaker and a member of Catalpa United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters: Spring Tina Brna, Hagerstown; Twana Opal Exline, Berkeley Springs; two sons: Leon Arlie Ward and Marco Walter Ward, both of Hancock; a sister, Helen Singleton, Hancock; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Sue Weller.

Services were held Wednesday, February 4, at 11:00 a.m., at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Rev. Lynn Singleton officiated. Burial was made in Buck Valley Memorial Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
