Charlotte Stahle of Needmore was surprised on January 25 with an 80th birthday party given by her family at Needmore Bible Church. The ladies of the church

served a delicious meal to 125 friends and relatives and a wonderful

time was had by all. Thanks to those who helped to celebrate her birthday.

A 90th birthday party was held on January 31 for Margaret "Peg" Gordon by her family at McConnellsburg Firehall.

Sympathy goes out to the family of Bud Jennings of Chambersburg and well known for years in Fulton county who passed away last Thursday night.

Bud's son Allen "Skip" Jennings was nominated for the 2009 Time magazine Dealer of the Year award. He is president of Jennings Chevrolet Cadillac Inc. in Chambersburg.

Congratulations to Southern Fulton girls basketball coach Mark Mellott on his 200th win against Hancock last Monday night. Mark is in his 11th season with a record of 220-81.

Public Opinion weekly honor roll student-athletes were Evan Appleby, McConnellsburg; and Andrew Merica and Brooke Whiteside, Southern Fulton, all for basketball.

Helen Garlock, a resident in Fulton County Medical Center, celebrated her 97th birthday on Saturday, January 31.

Michael and Shanda Henry and Michelle Sowers of here and Christine and Ashley Vanderslice of Philadelphia attended Corey Henry's graduation from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, recently.

Sympathy goes out to Stacey Pine and her friend, Denny Fox, on the loss of Stacey's 19-monthold daughter last week in a house fire at Fort Loudon.

Scottie Hoover, who was kicked by a horse last week, in gravely ill ib Hershey Medical Center at press time. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Marilyn Barclay of Lititz visited with her mother, Mary Hoover, on Saturday.

Kay McBeath, who has been under the care of UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh since falling outside her Mc- Connellsburg home, was recently transferred to Select Speciality Hospital in Johnstown to continue her recovery.
