Shooting Matches Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will hold shooting matches on the following dates: February 7 - 410 shoot only; February 14, 21 and 28 - regular shoots.

Sweetheart Ball The 25th annual Beta Sigma Phi Sweetheart Ball will be held February 14 at the American Legion. Hors d'oeuvres will be served at 6:00 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. DJ "Blazin Dragon'' will provide entertainment at 8:00 p.m. for dancing and an auction. Cost is $35 per couple. HAVFCO Food Auction Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a food auction on Friday, February 13, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen will be open at 5:00 p.m. Miscellaneous food items will be offered for sale.

HAVFCO Open Stage Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, February 28, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen will open at 5:00 p.m. Come out and join in to entertain or just come out and enjoy visiting with old and new friends.

Country Music Show There will be a country music show, sponsored by the Coal Miners Museum at Robertsdale Theatre, February 7, at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $6 and children 12 and under are $3. Featured will be "Mountain Strings," Gail and Linda Saylor, and Ralph Wilson.

Senior Center Activities McConnellsburg Senior Center activities for February are as follows: nickel bingo, 10:00 a.m. - February 6, 9, 11, 13, 18, 20, 23, 25 and 27; card games, 10:00 a.m. - February 3 and 17; blood pressure screening, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - February 5; Chambersburg shopping, 9:00 a.m. - February 10; senior club meeting, 11:00 a.m. - February 10; closed February 16; nutrition/craft class, 1:00 p.m. - February 19. To reserve a dinner write name on the sheet at the center or call 485-5613 before 1:30 p.m. on the day before. Suggested donation for meals is $2.

Hunter's Helping Kids Banquet The first annual Hunters Helping Kids banquet and live auction will be held at Buchanan Valley Fire Co., Saturday, February 21, at 6:00 p.m. Meet Team Fitzgerald and Hunting the Backwoods TV crew. There will be an autograph session, live auction, raffles, lots of food and a lot of great hunting stuff. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for kids 6-11 and kids under 6 are free. Sight And Sound Trip Sideling Hill Parish of the United Methodist Church is sponsoring a bus trip Wednesday, April 8, to see "Behold The Lamb." The bus will depart from Knobsville United Methodist Church at 8:00 a.m. More information may be obtained by calling 717-987-3215.

Soccer Registration Warfordsburg Area Youth Soccer will be holding spring '09 registration Saturday, February 7 and February 14, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, at the SF Elementary lobby. More information may be obtained by calling 294-3030.

Line Dance Fulton County Line Dance Club will hold line dance sessions every Wednesday (except the first Wednesday of the month) beginning at 7:00 p.m. at VFW Post 655, Poplar Street, McConnellsburg. All are welcome. Come and learn some new steps. A $2 donation is appreciated.

Hall Walking McConnellsburg SADD will be offering hall walking at McConnellsburg High School from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. If the school closes because of the weather, hall walking will be cancelled. Gym Time McConnellsburg Alumni and Friends Association will be sponsoring free gym time in the old MHS gym on Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 2:00 p.m. for anyone who would like to walk, workout, play some basketball, volleyball, table tennis, etc. The gym will be open every Monday and Wednesday and follow the Central Fulton School schedule.
