McConnellsburg picked up its second win of the 2008-09 season Monday night after narrowly sliding by the Fairfield Green Knights by two points. Evan Appleby tallied a career-high 23 points, and Ryan Defibaugh had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Drew Wink was the next highest scorer with seven points.

Two Forbes Road Cardinals reached double figures last Tuesday to lead their teammates on to a 62-45 non-league win over Southern Huntingdon. Jesse Newman tallied 20 points and handed out seven assists, and Tanner Henry followed with 14 points and four blocks. Trent Black added nine points and four steals.

Southern Huntingdon continued to stretch out its lead as last Wednesday's non-league game progressed and ended the match against McConnellsburg with a 57-29 win. Ryan Defibaugh led the Spartans scoring effort with 10 points and nine rebounds. Devin Petty-John was the next highest scorer with five points.

The Fannett-Metal Tigers picked up their eighth straight victory last Friday when they faced off against the Mc- Connellsburg Spartans at home. Ryan Defibaugh was the high scorer for the Spartans during their 61-36 loss with a total of 12 points. Nathan Swope added eight points.

The Southern Fulton Indians scored a season-high 70 points Friday night during a 19-point victory over the Forbes Road Cardinals. Andrew Merica led the Indians with a career-high 23 points, while Josh Wertz added 16 points. Jesse Newman posted 24 points for the Cardinals, and Trent Black had 12 points.

The Fulton County Community Christian School prevailed in overtime last Friday, slipping by Carlisle Christian Academy by three points. Seth Gordon managed 19 points, seven assists and five steals for the Chargers, and T.J. Leedy contributed 18 points and eight rebounds. Kenny Lininger also reached double figures with 17 points.
