John E. Marshall Big Cove Tannery, 64
John E. Marshall, 64, Big Cove Tannery, died Sunday, January 25, 2009, at Fulton County Medical Center.
He was born November 18, 1944, in Charlotte, Mich., the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Bombara) Marshall.
Upon graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, he worked as a chef in various restaurants in New York; Virgin Islands, W.I.; Washington, D.C.; Mercersburg; and Switzerland. After purchasing a farm in Fulton County in 1981 with his associate Dan Adams, he proceeded to establish and operate a goat and cow dairy and cheese making facility that serviced restaurants and farmers markets.
He is survived by one sister, Dorothy Janet Wice of Clearwater, Fla.; one brother, Joseph Robert Marshall of Battle Creek, Mich.; one nephew, Derek J. Marshall of Lansing, Mich.; and his associate Daniel J. Adams of Big Cove Tannery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Elizabeth Marshall
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in memory of John to the charity of one's choice.
