Eichelberger Goes To Washington

A new president, an important time to take a pro-life stand

On Thursday, January 22, 2009, Senator John H. Eichelberger Jr. traveled with a staff member from Huntingdon, Pa., to Washington, D.C., for the 2009 March for Life, along with hundreds of thousands of pro-life individuals from across the nation on the 36th anniversary of the Supreme Court's 1972 Roe versus Wade decision.

"It is a privilege to be with compassionate people from across America who care about human life from conception to a natural death. It has never been more important to take a stand for the unborn as it is right now," said Eichelberger.

Several groups from the 30th District marched including Blair County Citizens Concerned for Human Life and St. Mary's Church in Hollidaysburg. Also, students from St. Patrick's School in Newry and students from St. Mary's Middle School in Altoona participated.

The theme of the 2009 'March for Life' was "Remember - the "Life Principles" mean "Equal Care" with "No Exception!" For more information, visit www.marchforlife.org.
