New Thrift Shop To Open Here

Tentative opening set for March 14

A new thrift store will be accepting donations later next month with hopes centered on officially opening the business to the public in March.

Operated by Occupational Services Inc., "Treasure Trove" will be housed at 202 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg, the former location of Green Leaf Gifts & Things. Proceeds from the new shop will aid in supporting and expanding programs currently offered by OSI, a Chambersburg-based company that provides employment services to individuals with disabilities.

The business, OSI representative Linda Mayo stated in a press release, will be manned by consumers and employees from OSI.

In order to properly stock the shelves of OSI's new endeavor, Mayo said donations will be accepted between February 10 and February 12 as well as February 17 through February 19 between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Donations, which should be in good condition, will also be accepted at Treasure Trove on Saturday, February 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. All donations are tax deductible.

Mayo added the opening of the store is planned for March 14. Anyone needing additional information on OSI or Treasure Trove should contact Michelle Lane by calling 717- 263-9293.
