Delmar L. Spade

Hancock, 73

Delmar Lawrence Spade, 73, Hancock, Md., died Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.

Born September 4, 1935, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Leslie R. and Beatrice G. Truax Spade.

He attended Hancock area schools.

He had been retired form A.G. Chemical Co. in Downingtown, Pa.

He was a member of Amaranth Church of the Brethren, Warfordsburg.

Surviving are four sisters: Phyllis Thompson, Hancock; Viola Weigle, Hedgesville, W.Va.; Elda Mertz, Martinsburg, W.Va.; Georgia Deshong, Hedgesville, W.Va.; three brothers; Bernard L. Spade, Hancock; Arlie G. Spade, Elkton, Md.; Jearld Spade, New Castle, Del.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Estalene Ritz and Nancy Shives; and three brothers: Kenneth R., Walter R. and James T. Spade.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 21, at 10:00 a.m., at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Pastor Freeman Snair officiated. Burial was made in Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
