Robert K. Hoover
Robert K. "Bob" Hoover, 86, Fayetteville, Pa., died Wednesday, January, 14, 2009, in Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg.
Born April 9, 1922, in Fayetteville, he was the son of Chester and Esther Keefer Hoover.
He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a Sunday School teacher and superintendent.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was an avid golfer in his younger years.
He retired from TB Woods Co. where he was the shipping department supervisor.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Becky Barnhart Hoover, a daughter, Sharon L. Hoover, and a sister, Betty Johns.
He is survived by three daughters: Deborah Brookens, Fayetteville; Bobbi (and husband Steve) Gillespie and Wendy (and husband Steve) Grove, all of Chambersburg; three sisters: Gladys Newman and June Humelsine, Chambersburg, and Pat Newman, Fayetteville, and one brother, Gerald Hoover of Carlisle; six grandchildren: Kelby and Kipp Brookens, Erin and Lauren Gillespie and Jessica and Corey Grove; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 17, at 10:30 a.m., at Christian Life Assembly of God , 1400 Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg. A private burial will be held at a later date.
