No Bid For Gettysburg Country Club At Auction
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) - Gettysburg Country Club has failed to draw a bid at auction following months of financial struggles.
The 120-acre property just off Route 30 west of Gettysburg includes a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, pools and a relatively new clubhouse.
Susquehanna Bank had foreclosed on the property and wanted a minimum bid of $2.9 million at the Adams County Courthouse on Friday, but no one bid on the 60-year-old club.
The bank has agreed to pay the costs of the sheriff sale and municipal liens owed to the Cumberland Township Municipal Authority, as well as money owed to the Gettysburg Municipal Authority.
An outside attorney for the bank says his client will likely attempt to sell the property on its own.
