The weather seemed o make for a bad weekend with icy conditions. Some of the church services

were cancelled due to icy roads and parking lots. We're sorry

to hear Bryan Kylor had the misfortune of falling and injuring his head and was taken to the hospital, but glad to hear he was able to be brought home. So, we have him on our prayer list. Also Betty Malot is still not able to be up and about yet. But glad to hear she is improving and hope she will be completely recovered soon.

Just a reminder that Hustontown Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary dues are due this month.

Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. is sponsoring a shooting match every Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the firehall. Prizes will be given. The fire company will sponsor an open stage on the fourth Saturday. It will be held January 24 for the next Saturday night of entertainment. If you have talent it's a good chance to take part and support the fire company. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. and entertainment starts at 6:00 p.m.

Household hint: When using your hands to shape cookies, especially if the dough contains a lot of shortening, wet your hands with cold water from time to time and the dough won't stick to your palms.
