Cumberland Valley Christian 62,

McConnellsburg 47

Jarrod Appleby had a teamhigh 13 points for the Mc- Connellsburg Spartans, who unsuccessfully faced off against Cumberland Valley Christian Monday night. Nathan Swope and Ryan Defibaugh both added nine points during the 62-47 loss. Drew Wink was the next highest Spartan scorer with eight points.

Southern Fulton 53,

Chestnut Ridge 41

Southern Fulton outscored Chestnut Ridge by nine points in the fourth period of Monday evening's game, enabling the Indians to pull away for a 53-41 win. Andrew Merica finished with 18 points, while Josh Wertz totalled 12 points. Jesse Smartt had eight points, three steals and four assists.

Tussey Mountain 46,

Forbes Road 36

Forbes Road had poor shooting at the foul line Monday night and only shot 20 percent from the floor for a 10-point loss to the Tussey Mountain Titans. Jesse Newman netted 13 points and two assists, and Trent Black had a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and five steals for the Cardinals.

Tussey Mountain 50,

Southern Fulton 48

Confusion ruled at the end of Saturday's match-up between the Tussey Mountain Titans and the Southern Fulton Indians. The question still remains whether Southern Fulton should have been able to shoot foul shots and have the opportunity to tie up the Sideling Hill match, which ended in a two-point victory by the Titans. Josh Hall ended the game with 12 points and two blocked shots, and Luke Mellott totalled 10 points and six rebounds. Jesse Smartt finished with seven points.

McConnellsburg 58, Hyndman 49

McConnellsburg picked up its very first win of the 2008-09 season last Friday night when the Spartans slipped by the Hyndman Hornets for a 58-49 league victory. Ryan Defibaugh produced 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead his Spartan teammates, while Drew Wink had 15 points and dished out five assists. Evan Appleby hit double figures as well with 10 points and also made four steals.

Northern Bedford 50,

Forbes Road 39

Forbes Road's slight twopoint lead dwindled away Friday night and ended in a 50-39 loss to the Northern Bedford Panthers. Jesse Newman posted 21 points, three assists and three steals for the Cardinals. Tanner Henry followed with 10 points.
