James E. Tice

Cresson, Pa., 83

James E. Tice, 83, Cresson, Pa., and formerly of Shade Gap, died Monday, December 29, 2008, at Penn Knoll Nursing Home, Everett.

He was born in Harrisonville, August 13, 1925, the son of the late Charles and Leona (Schooley) Tice. He was the widower of Margaret H. (Flood) Tice, whom he married March 13, 1948. She passed away September 29, 1999.

He attended Zion United Methodist Church, Waterfall.

He was a carpenter and a farmer, member of the Masonic Lodge in Christiana, Pa., Carpenter's Union in Philadelphia and served in the U.S. Army as a private in World War II.

He is survived by daughters: Naomi Ruth (wife of Barry) Foor, Canfield, Ohio, and Francis L. (wife of Allen) Chelus, Reading, Pa.; sister Edna Keebaugh, Mc- Connellsburg; close friend Hilda Mellott, Waterfall; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., Harrisonville, at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 2. Pastor Kenneth Grundon officiated. Burial was made at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville.
