Legion Auxiliary Holds Meeting

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 561 met December 10, at 6:00 p.m. There were nine members and 14 guests present. The meeting was a covered-dish meal with entertainment by Junior Girl Scout Troop 989 and Cadet Troop 456, both of Mc- Connellsburg. Each girl was given a monetary Christmas gift. After the party a short meeting took place. A donation was given to American Diabetes Foundation. Monetary gifts were given to three residents here in the community. Candy bars were donated to Scotland School for its Christmas party on December 14.

December 4 the Adams, Franklin, Fulton, York County Council meeting was held in Mc- Connellsburg. There were 12 members and 28 guests present. The meeting started at 10:30 a.m. with committee reports. A break was taken before lunch when Post Cmdr. Bill McGinnis welcomed everyone. He thanked the ladies for all they do for veterans and the work they do at their home posts. Unit reports were given with a total of 1,768 hours of community service hours reported for the last two months. A Chinese auction concluded the afternoon.

The auxiliary visited Leisure Living on December 11 to sing Christmas carols. Each resident received treats and keepsake pictures were taken by the Christmas tree. The pictures were delivered
