PARSE Meeting Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees (PARSE) has a 9:00 a.m. breakfast meeting on the second Wednesday of every month at McConnellsburg FOVA (VFW). All retired state employees and spouses are invited to attend. For additional information, call 485-4763.

Republican Women's Council Meeting Fulton County Republican Women's Council will meet Thursday, January 8, at 4:45 p.m., at Johnnie's Diner.

Quilt Club Meeting Fulton County Quilt Club will meet in the basement of the United Methodist Church on the square on Saturday, January 17 at 10:00 a.m. Barbara Nellemann will be demonstrating English paper piecing. Please bring basic sewing kit and fabric scraps. Anyone intereste din quilting is invited to attend.

Historical Society Meeting Matthew Dodd of Mechanicsburg will present a Fulton County Historical Society program on "Songs and Stories of Old Railroad Days" at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening, January 23, 2009, in Fulton Theater, McConnellsburg. This event is open to the community and will feature railroad legend and lore, famous people and events and songs on the banjo, mandolin, harmonica and acoustic guitar. A freewill offering will cover his cost. Light refreshments will be served. If schools are cancelled that day for weather reasons, a snow date for the meeting will be the same time the following Friday, January 30.

Singles To Meet Knobsville Singles will meet January 12, at 9:00 a.m., at K's Place.

Democratic Meetings Fulton/Franklin Democratic Club meets the third Tuesday of each month in Democratic Headquarters at 7:00 p.m., 123 South Second Street, McConnellsburg. Meetings are open to the public, light refreshments are provided and all are welcome. More information may be obtained by calling 485-3386.

4-H County Council Meeting Postponed The first meeting of the Fulton County 4-H County Council has been postponed. Members will be notified when a new date has been set. Call Lori at 485-4111 for more information.

PASR Luncheon Fulton County Public School Retirees (PASR) is encouraging all retirees to join in for a social luncheon at the Hustontown Senior Center on Tuesday, January 13. Pelase call reservations to the center at 987-3770 by January 12. There is a suggested donation of $2. Future luncheons are planned at the McConnellsburg Center on February 10 (call 485-4613) and Warfordsburg Senior Center on March 10. Legion Meeting American Legion Post 561 active members regular meeting is the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Auxiliary members meet the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Members of both organizations are urged to attend.

Sportsmen's League To Meet Fulton County Sportsmen's League will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the stone house at the trout nursery on January 16.
