      Hope everyone had a nice Christmas in celebration of the Savior's birth. Now we look forward to entering 2009. Hope everyone has a nice New Year and also a good year ahead. Some folks were hoping for a white Christmas. Sorry to hear Betty Malot is not feeling up to good health. We hope she will be on the well list soon.

Our Town
      The children's Sunday School class of St. Paul Lutheran Church performed a skit on Sunday, "Christmas Around the World." Those in the skit were Chase Novak, Colton and Caleb Strait, Mason and Isaac Sain, Marah and Matthew Huston and guest Abby.

Named To President's List
      Lindsay Lininger, a senior at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, has been named to the President's List for the second semester in a row with a GPA of 4.0. A social work major, she is also a member of the Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society.

Collaborative Gallery Show At Berkeley Springs Ice House
      BERKELEY SPRINGS, W. Va. - - Celebrating collaboration between artists, the gallery exhibit "Duets" opens at the Ice House on Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. The gala opening is preceded by an Artwalk with a reception at Mountain Laurel Gallery beginning at 5 p.m. Curated by metalsmith Anne Larsen and produced by the Morgan Arts Council (MAC), the show is displayed through March 1.

      Mary and Harold Howard Jr. of Palmyra and Carol and Roger Ritz of Harrisonville are proud to announce the engaement of their children, Alecia Beth Howard and Cody Michael Ritz. Ali is a 2007 graduate of Palmyra High School and is employed at Bentley's Old Mill Bakery and BBQ.
