John W. Hennen Sr.
John William Hennen Sr., 87, McConnellsburg, died Monday, December 15, 2008, at Washington County Hospital from pneumonia.
He was born December 7, 1921 in Spring Gap, Md.
He was retired from the Government Printing Office.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was employed at Book Binders Local #4 Washington, D.C., and a was a member of the American Legion, Mayo, Md. He enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, woodworking, camping and spending time outdoors.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Virginia Hennen, McConnellsburg; sons: John "Jack" Jr. and Richard Hennen, both of Mayo, Md.; brothers: Henry Hennen, Churchton, Md.; Leslie Hennen, Port Charlotte, Fla.; sisters: Madeline Mosier, Ridgeley, W.Va.; Elizabeth Jordon, Shellman, Ga.; Christine Dennis, Sarasota, Fla., Waveline McDonald, Cumberland, Md.; Maxine Phillips, Prince Frederick, Md.; and Cynthia Nahrwold, Sarasota, Fla.; two grandchildren; Jacklyn Hennen, Ocean City, Md.; and Meredith Hennen, Annapolis, Md.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Randolph and Frank Hennen.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 19, at 2:00 p.m., at Hardesty Funeral Home, Galesville, Md. Interment was in Lakemont Cemetery, Davidsonville, Md.
