A mailbox along Route 301 just west of Black Oak Road was struck by an unknown vehicle on Saturday, December 6, at 11 p.m. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene of the crash in Bethel Township.
Drugs Found During Traffic Stop
Approximately 13 grams of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia were found during a traffic stop along Interstate 70 in Brush Creek Township. Owen T. Evans, 23, of Pittsburgh was charged by state police as a result of the stop on November 28 at 5:06 p.m. Charges against Evans have been filed through the office of Magisterial District Judge Carol Jean Johnson.
An undisclosed amount of money was stolen from Kee-Ta- Quay Construction of Hustontown during a burglary that occurred between 4:30 p.m. on December 7 and 8 a.m. on December 8. A silver 1996 Dodge Avenger belonging to 54-year-old Lana Group of McConnellsburg was stolen from the Daljcon parking lot in Ayr Township between noon on December 9 and 4:30 p.m. on December 10. The vehicle has damage to the front-end driver's side as a result of a prior crash. Loose change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle that was parked at 123 West Walnut Street in McConnellsburg Borough between noon on December 13 and 11 a.m. on December 14. Victim was 31-year-old McConnellsburg resident April Burch. A McConnellsburg woman spotted two burglars running from her 1111 Rock Hill Road home and into an adjacent wooded area on Tuesday, December 9. Thirty-two-year-old Tracy Lynn Sipes informed state police she heard a thumping noise and a door slam in her basement after arriving at her Ayr Township home at 6:33 a.m. Sipes reportedly grabbed a gun and went to investigate when she saw two people running into the woods. Minutes later, Sipes and a friend observed the headlights of an automobile turn on down the roadway. The car then sped away.

Tools and construction equipment valued at $3,200 were stolen from a shed located at 854 South Hess Road in Thompson Township between 6 p.m. on December 3 and 1:30 p.m. on December 6. Distributor Charged With Liquor Law Violation
Clevenger's Beverage Connection Inc. of McConnellsburg has been charged with a liquor law violation in connection with an incident on October 15. According to reports issued from the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, an individual at the distributor issued checks or drafts on that date for the purchase of malt or brewed beverages with insufficient funds in their account.
Two Charged With Damaging Bathrooms
Twenty-year-old Joshua Breeden and David Stotler, 21, both of the Warfordsburg area have been charged as a result of an incident that occurred at Widmeyer Park in Hancock on October 27. The duo were allegedly caught on video entering the bathrooms at the park where several toilet handles were damaged. Surveillance cameras also taped the men walking out of the bathrooms carrying the handles. Both men have been charged with malicious destruction of property under $500 and theft less than $100.
