Howard L. Keefer

Howard L."Sonny" Keefer, 60, McConnellsburg, died Friday, December 12, 2008, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C..

He was born March 13, 1948, in Chambersburg, the son of the late Thomas Keefer and Clara (Peck) Keefer, McConnellsburg.

Early in life, he worked at the sawmill in Big Cove Tannery before becoming employed by Grove Manufacturing in Greencastle and later Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg where he worked in the paint division.

He was a member of the Mc- Connellsburg American Legion Post 561 and McConnellsburg F.O.V.A. 655 and the Eagles Club in Waynesboro. He enjoyed hunting and spending the afternoons going to car shows.

Surviving are his mother, Clara Keefer of McConnellsburg; one daughter, Cindy Mobley, Mechanicsville, Md.; three sisters: Alice M. Mellott, Mary E. (wife of James) Lynch and Irma M. (wife of Andy) Rotz and one brother Reed M. "Mack" Keefer, all of Mc- Connellsburg.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas L. Keefer and one brother Carl Keefer

Services were private and at the convenience of the family.

Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Homes, 322 North Second Street, McConnellsburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
