Last Saturday evening, Tom, Mamie and Chuck Streightiff attended a birthday party for Alexis Streightiff at the Slinky Zone in Duncansville. Alexis is the 2-yearold daughter of Chuckie and Sherry Streightiff.

Travis Madden and Terri and Tammy Grissinger shopped in Altoona on Sunday and topped off their day with lunch at the Olive Garden restaurant. They just can't seem to pass an Olive Garden without being hungry.

Immanuel Bible Church Christmas Eve candlelight service will begin at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

On Saturday evening, the Streightiff family gathered at Hoss's Restaurant in Huntingdon for Huldah Streightiff's birthday. Attending the celebration were Chuck, Tom, Mamie, Kristi and Betty Streightiff, Kenny Watkins, John, Gayle and Katie Young, and Shawn, Cody and Ella Joe Young.

On Friday evening, 10 people from Walnut Grove Church traveled to "The Dream Restaurant" in Hollidaysburg for dinner. They enjoyed a trip through Lights on the Lake at Lakemont Park and a stop at Walmart before returning home. Those enjoying the evening were Neva and Fred Fleming, Hull and Joan Holtry, Wayne and Dawn Lapp, Shelly Long, Betty Ramsey, Gail Stains and Melanie Myers.

On Saturday, Lydia and Teresa Souders, Betty Ramsey and Melanie Myers visited New York City and took in the Broadway musical "Grease."

Approximately 40 folks from Walnut Grove Church of God were out Christmas caroling throughout the area on Sunday evening.

Visitors in the home of Steve, Karen, Terri and Tammy Grissinger this week were Brent Carlson, Jared Carlson and friend Allison, Travis Madden, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Bob and Bobby Albrecht, and James Locke. Visiting on Saturday were Marty Sinkiewicz, Mike, Chris and Kevin Pintozzi, Henry and Ben Haines.

Karen Grissinger visited with Buzz and Bea Covert on Thursday evening.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will be hosting shooting matches beginning on Saturday, December 20. This match will be a 410 shoot. The shooting match on December 27, will be a regular shoot. A hog shoot will be held January 1 beginning at 1 p.m.

The fire company will hold an open stage event on Saturday, December 27 beginning at 6 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and share their talent or enjoy the talent of others.

Winter officially begins on Sunday, December 21, so technically there are only 90 days until spring. The countdown begins now.
