Emmanuel Christian School 29,


Josie Spade led the Fulton County Community Christian School Chargers with nine points last Friday during the opening round of the 12th annual Calvary Baptist Academy Tip-Off Tournament. The Chargers fell by a mere one-point during the game against Emmanuel Christian School.

Centre County Christian

Academy 34, FCCCS 29

Jenae Gordon nearly hit double digits Saturday when the Fulton County Community Christian School Chargers took on Centre County Christian Academy. Gordon sunk nine points for the Chargers, who were defeated by the narrow score of 34-29. Gordon along with teammate Andrea Leedy were named to the All-Tournament Team.

CVC 60, FCC 16

After a 6-6 tie in the opening period, Cumberland Valley Christian quickly dashed away for a 60-16 win over Fulton County Christian. Jenae Gordon led the FCC Chargers with nine points. Teammates Josie Spade and Andrea Leedy followed with four and three points, respectively.

McConnellsburg 52,

Mount Union 31

McConnellsburg kicked off their season opener last Friday with a decisive 52-31 win over Mount Union during the Belleville Mennonite Tournament. Michelle Baker posted a game-high 12 points and added three assists and seven steals. J.J. DeShong followed with eight points and eight rebounds, while Courtney McClure added 10 points, three assists and one blocked shot.

Southern Fulton 55, Everett 49

Key free throws in the fourth quarter allowed Southern Fulton to walk away with a 55-49 win over the Everett Warriors. The Indians were led by Brooke Whiteside, who netted 12 points, and Chelsey Hollenshead with 11 points, three steals, two assists and seven rebounds. Natasha Bard added 10 points, and Keena Elbin had nine points and three blocked shots.

McConnellsburg 42,

Belleville Mennonite 33

McConnellsburg Spartan Michelle Baker was selected the most valuable player of the Belleville Mennonite Tip-Off Tournament Saturday after Mc- Connellsburg bumped off the tourney hosts by the final score of 42-33. Baker had 13 points and four steals, while Courtney Mc- Clure, who was a member of the All-Tournament Team, added 15 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. Rachel Porterfield and J.J. DeShong finished eight eight and six points respectively.

Southern Fulton 59,

Chestnut Ridge 41

Southern Fulton outscored Chestnut Ridge by 12 points Monday evening and easily defeated the Lions 59-41 in Sideling Hill League action. Chelsey Hollenshead had a game-high 19 points and added seven steals and six rebounds, while teammate Natasha Bard tallied 12 points for the Indians. Lacey Beatty also contributed 12 points, and Brooke Whiteside hit double digits as well with 10 points.

Tussey Mountain 61,

Forbes Road 23

The Forbes Road Lady Cardinals only managed to score six points in three periods and five in the remaining quarter during a disappointing 61-23 trouncing at the hands of the Tussey Mountain Titans. Ky Fraker was the leading scorer for the Cardinals with a double-double-11 points and 12 rebounds.
