The Emmanuel Christian School prevailed over the Fulton County Community Christian School Friday during the opening game of the 12th annual Calvary Baptist Academy Tip-Off Tourney. T.J. Leedy led the Chargers team with 17 points.

FCCCS 47, Centre County

Christian School 25

Fulton County Community Christian School picked up its very first win of the 2008-09 season Saturday with a decisive 47- 25 win over Centre County Christian School. T. J. Leedy hit double digits for the Chargers with 16 points and was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Southern Huntingdon 56,

McConnellsburg 41

The Southern Huntingdon Rockets found the net for a big second period Friday to defeat the McConnellsburg Spartans during the ICC Challenge Tourney. During the Spartans' 56-41 loss, Ryan Defibaugh led his teammates with 15 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Jarrod Appleby added 11 points, and Devin Petty-John had five points and dished out three assists.

Shanksville 60, Forbes Road 44

Forbes Road was behind by 11 points Friday night and couldn't overcome the deficit during a 60- 44 loss at the hands of Shanksville. Jesse Newman led the Cardinals with 18 points and seven assists, while Tanner Henry logged 11 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Andrew King was the next highest scorer with eight points.

Mount Union 49,

McConnellsburg 39

McConnellsburg got off to a slow start Saturday, dropping the ICC Challenge Tournament game by 10-points to Mount Union. Spartan Ryan Defibaugh was appointed to the All-Tournament Team and finished the match-up with 14 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Nathan Swope and Devin Petty-John each scored six points.

Southern Fulton 47, Everett 28

Southern Fulton boasted some big numbers during the season opener easily defeating the Everett Warriors Saturday by the score of 47-28. Luke Mellott led the Indians offense with 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Josh Hall and Jesse Smartt both had seven points, and Andrew Merica contributed six points and four assists.

CVC 55, McConnellsburg 52

A turnover late in Monday night's game allowed Cumberland Valley Christian to slip by for a 55-52 victory over the Mc- Connellsburg Spartans. During the non-league game, Ryan Defibaugh again led McConnellsburg with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Evan Appleby totalled 11 points, and Devin Petty-John hit double digits with 10 points.
