Pa. Borough Worker Charged With Embezzling $167K
CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (AP) - The former office manager of the Conshohocken Sewer Authority is facing charges of stealing $167,000 of taxpayer money for her personal use.
Authorities say 38-year-old Tracy Connelly embezzled from the Sewer Authority for about two years before she was suspended in July.
She was released on $50,000 unsecured bail after being arraigned Friday on hundreds of charges including identity theft, forgery and unlawful use of a computer.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said every major expense of Connelly's life was seemingly paid for by Conshohocken taxpayers.
Authorities say that includes rent, a car loan, manicures and even a house in Ocean City, N.J., for her son and his friends.
