Dorothy B. Plessinger
Dorothy Belle Plessinger, 79, McConnellsburg, died Monday, December 1, 2008, at Fulton County Medical Center.
She was born in Needmore, May 10, 1929, the daughter of the late W. Don and Edna M. (Peck) Hill. She was the widow of Emerson J. Plessinger, whom she married July 4, 1848. He preceded her in death November 4, 2007.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, and was a former member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church Ladies Auxiliary. She worked at various establishments in the area and was an avid homemaker.
Surviving are a son, John E. (husband of Neila) Plessinger, Goose Creek, S.C.; daughters: Nancy J. (wife of Andy) Smith, Southport, N.C.; Phyllis E. (wife of Charles) Price, Breezewood; and Kimberly A. (wife of Charles) Nutwell, Needmore; sister Mildred Shirk, Clear Spring, Md.; brother Alton Hill, Needmore; loving friend and companion Francis Claar; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Mae Richardson.
She enjoyed going shopping, attending church, going out to dinner, attending social gatherings, getting her hair and nails done, was an avid book reader and collected autographs of authors, including a booksigning where she got to meet Hillary Rodham Clinton. She as a loving wife and mother who enjoyed her home, family, friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 5. Rev. Delmas Bard officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
