Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

Winter temperatures have arrived which made for a cold weekend, but fortunately we didn't get much snow.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Joan Shepherd, who passed away last week.

Harriet Hill of Manheim visited with Kate Berkstresser on Friday.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an auction on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. A chance to go out for supper, enjoy the evening and support the fire company.

Sorry to report Mary Ellen Martz is not doing as well as we would like to hear. Our prayers go out to her for improvement.

It was good to talk with Evelyn Sipes on Sunday. Glad to hear she is doing OK and she would like to be back in Fulton County.

If you hunters haven't been lucky to get that deer yet, good luck this week.

Next Sunday, December 14, Advent services will be held at Center United Methodist Church at 7:00 p.m. Fairview United Methodist Church folks will be in charge of services.

Our sympathy is extended to the Justin Mellott family.

Happy December birthdays to Sadie Creager, December 2; Caitlin Black, December 1; David Boyer, December 5; and Braeden Kylor, December 12.

Hustontown Fire Co. is sponsoring shooting matches on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Household hint: Misty windows.

Keep a chalkboard eraser in your glove compartment. When windows steam up, just wipe the moisture away. After washing and drying the windows of your car, try buffing; then when dry, crumple up newspaper for optimum sparkle.
